Description

EC3's Construction Trades program provides training in fundamental skills required for success in the construction industry. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, participants will develop essential knowledge and proficiency in safety, math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, rigging, communication, employability, and material handling. This introductory non-credit course consists of 144 instructional hours and is geared towards enhancing attendees' skillsets, knowledge, and employability within the Construction Trades. Students who complete the program will be given the opportunity to obtain the following certifications, including but not limited to:

  • NCCER CORE
  • OSHA 10
  • Ladder Safety & Fall Prevention
  • Basic First Aid & CPR

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this 144-hour program, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in construction environments.
  • Identify and properly use basic construction tools and materials.
  • Apply foundational construction techniques in practical scenarios.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers in construction projects.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills in problem-solving within construction contexts.

    • No Charge for participants – This program is financed by Erie County through a grant received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
