Teacher teaching student GTAW (TIG) Welding

Description

EC3's TIG welding program offers skills upgrade training in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes. This non-credit course will cover the safety and set-up processes with hands-on experience learned in the classroom.

Students will learn all proper names of consumables and how to properly use each type under various settings and circumstances. This course will also study different types of gases used in the welding industry and when and where to use the proper gases in relation to the proper welding process as well as filler metals and fluxes.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this 45-hour program, students will be able to:

  • Identify equipment and materials used in the major welding processes of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) learn and practice safety procedures.
  • Weld GTAW in various environments on steel to the standards of the American Welding Society (AWS).
