The Erie County Community College (EC3) is partnering with the Jefferson Educational Society to host the Secretary of Policy and Planning, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Akbar Hossain, J.D. is one of the youngest members to serve on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s cabinet and the highest-ranking Muslim official in the history of the state. At the event, he will share his family’s immigration story, shedding light on the policies that helped them realize their American dream, and outline his vision for a more inclusive and responsive Pennsylvania.
“I have had the pleasure of meeting Akbar and look forward to hearing his talk,” says Dr. Chris Gray, President of EC3. “His story will resonate with our community, especially our students.”
The event will be held on Thursday, April 25th at the Jefferson Educational Society starting at 7PM. The Jefferson Educational Society is located at 3207 State Street, Erie, PA 16508.
