Erie County Community College (EC3) recently named Matthew Cettin Director of Planning, Research and Development.

Cettin will provide leadership and coordination to implement EC3’s planning process, institutional research initiatives, and institutional effectiveness activities. In addition, he will lead the College’s strategic planning and accreditation processes by coordinating campus-wide activities and advising senior leadership.

“Matthew’s hire marks a significant milestone for the college,” says Executive Vice President, Guy Goodman. “Our work towards accreditation and strategic planning will only gain momentum with Matthew at the helm.”

Before joining EC3, Matthew served as the Assistant Vice President of Institutional Research and Effectiveness for Pennsylvania Western University. During his tenure, he led the accreditation efforts of the merger between three institutions, now Penn West Edinboro, Penn West Clarion, and Penn West California. He also led efforts in strategic planning for both The State University of New York at Fredonia and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Cettin earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s in higher education from Drexel University with a focus on Institutional Research.
