The Associate of Applied Business (AAB) in Management and Entrepreneurial Thinking program at EC3

The AAB in Management and Entrepreneurial Thinking Program at EC3 in Erie, PA is designed to lay a solid foundation for today's business world. Students can use their AAB degree to pursue entry-level positions, or as a stepping stone to a bachelor's degree program at participating PA TRAC colleges and universities throughout the commonwealth.

Required General Education Courses: Five Required Courses and Five Elective Courses

Like all EC3 students, you'll take ENG 101 (English Composition) to prepare you for your future class work. From there, you'll have the chance to either double down on your writing skills in ENG 102 (English Composition) or polish your speaking and listening skills in ENG 110 (Public Speaking) or COM 201 (Interpersonal and Professional Communications). In addition, this major requires ECO 101 (Macroeconomics). Through the two remaining general education courses and five electives, you'll explore topics in each of the following categories:

  1. Social & behavioral sciences
  2. Artist expression
  3. Cultural awareness
  4. Mathematics
  5. Natural sciences
  6. Technology
  7. Ethics

Program major requirements (7 classes)

The core classes begin with BUS 103 (Principles of Management) and ENT 110 (Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship). From there, students can choose to focus more on business operations or on either learning the ins and outs of entrepreneurship.

Program Concentration Requirements (3 classes)

Pick three courses from any of the following degree concentrations to complete your program requirements, choose to focus on one by choosing three courses in one concentration, or you can take all four courses under one concentration by adding in a course as a general elective

  • Business Management (four courses available)
  • Entrepreneurial Thinking (four courses available)
  • Sports Management (four courses available)
