Step 1: Plan Your Class Schedule
Before you register, spend a few minutes mapping out which courses you need. This will save you time and ensure you stay on track toward your degree or certificate.
Start with Your Program Requirements
If you've declared a major, begin by reviewing the courses required for your program.
- Visit ec3pa.org and click the Academics tab in the top navigation.
- From the dropdown, select Academic Programs.
- Find your program and click Learn More under the program description. This will display all required courses for that credential.
Not sure which program is right for you? Email advising@ec3pa.org, our advisors can help you explore EC3's programs and find the right fit.
Browse the Course Schedule
Once you know which courses you need, check what's available for the upcoming term.
- Return to the Academics tab at the top of ec3pa.org.
- From the dropdown, select the Course Schedule for the term you're registering for (e.g., "Fall 2026 Course Schedule").
- The schedule will list every available section, including start and end dates, delivery mode, location, meeting times, credit hours, and prerequisites.
Pro tip: Make a list of two or three backup courses before you register. Popular sections fill quickly, and having alternatives ready means you won't lose your spot in the term.
Understanding the Course Schedule

- Complete two-step verification. When prompted, choose your preferred method:
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator App, or
- Select Phone to receive a 6-digit code by text message.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code and click Next, then Done.
- If this is your first login, you'll be prompted to create a new password. Your password must be at least 8 characters and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character.
- From the Student Apps screen, select @Workday to enter the student portal.
If you're logging in from a shared or public computer, select "No" when asked to remember the device and "Skip" on the Remember Device screen.
Step 3: Register for Classes in Workday
Once you're in Workday, registration takes just a few minutes.
- From your Workday dashboard, click View All Apps on the right side of the screen.
- Select the Academics icon.
- On the Academics screen, find the Planning & Registration section on the right side and click Find Courses.

- Click the course name (shown in blue) to open its details.
- Click Start Registration.
- From the Academic Period dropdown, select the term you're registering for.
- If the term isn't listed, the course may not be offered that period or may already be full.
- Click OK.
- Check the box next to the section that works for your schedule (verify the location and time).
- Click Register in the bottom left corner.
- You'll see a confirmation screen. Click View Registered Courses to verify your registration was successful.
Registering for Additional Courses
To add more classes, go back to the Academics screen and click Find Courses again, then repeat the steps above. To see a complete list of everything you're registered for (including future terms) select "View My Courses".
Step 4: Drop or Withdraw from a Class
Plans change. If you need to remove a course from your schedule, watch this short video for a step-by-step walkthrough of how to drop or withdraw from a class in Workday.
Important: Dropping a course and withdrawing from a course are different, and each has its own deadline and impact on your tuition and academic record. Contact your advisor before withdrawing to understand your options, especially if you're receiving financial aid.
