**COLLEGE PROFILE**
Erie County Community College (EC3), America's newest community college, is a comprehensive community college located in northwest Pennsylvania currently offering various associate degrees and certificates. **POSITION SUMMARY**
The Program Coordinator/Instructor of the EC3 Industrial Manufacturing Technology program will provide leadership toward developing the Manufacturing/CNC program for EC3. The position includes administrative duties of a coordinator and instructional responsibilities of a teacher in the program and is a 12-month position. This position will lead the establishment of on-site classroom/labs and manage on-going lab set up including equipment purchase/set-up, materials ordering/management, and instructional planning and delivery. May supervise part-time instructors/trainers as needed.

**Program Coordination**
- Consults with advisory committees and industry partners.
- Prepares/maintains lab and materials; places, tracks, and maintains orders, enforces lab safety procedures.
- Develops/revises program curriculum/plans as applicable, in coordination with dean/leadership.
**Deliver Instruction**
- Conducts assigned class and/or labs.
- Prepares lessons that align with course and program outcomes that maintain high standards and consistency that attract, retain, and prepare diverse students to meet workforce demands.
- Provides course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information).
- Verifies student enrollment and submits grade sheets.
- Utilizes online Learning Management Software to enhance and support instruction.
- Selects, reviews, and develops course materials and resources that minimize student financial impact.
- Provides guided support in open and scheduled lab settings.
**Evaluate Student Progress**
- Keeps accurate record of student performance.
- Provides students with timely feedback.
**Provide Student Assistance**
- Refers students to student support services.
- Accommodates special needs students.
- Be available for student inquiry and discussion.
Maintains academic and student records as required by the institution and complies with requirements for reports, grant funds, and meeting deadlines as established.
Participates in program review and assessment activities; utilizes outcomes assessment to improve learning/instruction.
Participates in committees, extra- and co-curricular activities.
Participates in faculty and self-evaluation processes, including continuous improvement efforts.
Completes training required to perform effectively and remain current with trends in the discipline and higher education.
Attends faculty and college meetings.
Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
Demonstrates responsible and proper use of college resources.
As a member of the college community, faculty and staff should perform their professional responsibilities in accordance with the goals, missions, and plans of the department, program, division, and College, in addition to contributing to the creation of a collegial culture.
Assists in assessing equipment and supplies, scheduling classes, and departmental routines.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Strong knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes, CNC operation and CNC programming.
- Problem-solving skills, providing alternative solutions to challenges.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Have a strong desire to follow safety standards.
- Knowledge of MS Office (specifically Word and Excel), necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Be dependable and cooperative; working with minimal supervision or part of a team.
- Ability to interact and communicate clearly and concisely on a professional and respectful basis with EC3 staff, students, and visitors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Employee should have good manual dexterity as they will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must also be able to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and arm's length vision acuity. They must regularly sit at a desk and use a computer with monitors at times.
Considerable physical effort is required for this position. Crouching, bending, lifting, stretching, crawling, climbing ladders and steps and working in cramped areas are all likely.
The work environment has moderate to loud noise. Environmental conditions may include hazards, vibrations and fumes or airborne particles.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Associate degree or certificate in a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in the manufacturing industry and knowledge of industry-related equipment and systems and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience teaching/instructing core skills in advanced manufacturing machine safety, blueprint reading, math, metrology, and proper part inspection methods as part of the production and planning processes. As well as teaching/instruct in techniques, hardware, software menus and computer system practices associated with a Computer-Aided Machining/Distributed Numerical Control (CAM/DNC).
- Ability to work up to four evenings per week.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience teaching in an educational setting.
- Experience with Blackboard or similar online Learning Management System.
