Erie, PA — Erie County Community College (EC3) is pleased to announce that Dr. Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, will be the special guest speaker at its 2024 commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 1st.
As a classroom teacher for more than 30 years, Dr. Biden is a long-time advocate for higher education, particularly community colleges. Dr. Biden continues to teach English and writing at Northern Virginia Community College, where she has been a professor since 2009.
Over 80 graduates will be receiving their certificates and associate degrees at the ceremony, marking EC3’s 2nd annual commencement. Last year, the college graduated 27 students.
The event will be limited to graduates and their guests, but it will be live-streamed on the college’s website starting at 10 AM for those who cannot attend in person. More details can be found on the website.
Due to an increase in graduate participation, tickets will be required for admission. However, the ceremony will be live-streamed on the college’s website starting at 10 AM for individuals not able to attend in person.
