Erie County and Erie County Community College to host Press Conference to Launch Construction Trades Program
Erie, PA – Erie County and Erie County Community College (EC3) are holding a press conference on Monday, May 20th at 10:00am at the Erie County Community College West to announce its upcoming Construction Trades program for the summer of 2024. Geared towards empowering individuals with essential skills for success in the construction industry, this program promises a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training. The Construction Trades program offered by EC3 aims to equip participants with fundamental skills essential for thriving in the construction sector. Spanning 144 instructional hours, this non-credit course provides a robust foundation in safety, mathematics, tool usage, construction drawings interpretation, rigging, communication, employability, and material handling.

Upon successful completion, attendees will not only enhance their skill sets but also boost their employability within the Construction Trades. Moreover, completers will have the opportunity to obtain certifications including, but not limited to, NCCER CORE, OSHA 10, Ladder Safety & Fall Prevention, and Basic First Aid & CPR.

This program is made possible through funding from PA DCED Whole-Home Repairs Program and the County of Erie.

Schedule: Mondays - Thursdays, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Cost/Fees: No Charge -- Funded by Erie County through a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development
