Erie, PA – Erie County Community College (EC3) is recruiting its second cohort of students for its Construction Trades Training program aimed at providing Erie County residents with the fundamental skills needed for a successful career in the construction industry. This no-cost, 8-week program is open to residents of Erie County and is designed to offer hands-on training in essential trades knowledge, preparing participants for employment and advancement in the field.
Beginning on October 21, 2024, the program will run Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at EC3 West, located at 2403 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505 (Lower Level Classroom 008). The course combines both theoretical instruction and practical application, covering critical topics such as construction safety, power and hand tools, construction drawings, rigging, and more. Participants will complete 144 instructional hours aimed at enhancing skills, knowledge, and employability within the trades industry.
Upon completion, students will receive certifications in:
- NCCER CORE
- OSHA 10
- Ladder Safety & Fall Prevention
- Basic First Aid & CPR

- Thursday, October 3rd
- Tuesday, October 8th
- Thursday, October 10th
All sessions will be held at the EC3 West Conference Room from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. These sessions provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and receive assistance with the application process.
Cost: There is no cost for Erie County residents to attend, pending acceptance into the program and a commitment to full participation. All necessary tools and materials will be provided to students at no charge.
